Hello.

My name is Ben Blakey, and this is my blog, Step Onto Liquid.

I’ve been blogging with this title for about two and a half years.  “Step Onto Liquid” is really a fusion of a biblical event and a surfing video.  A couple summers ago, I attended a summer camp that had the theme “Walk on Water.”  Shortly after I returned home, I rented a surfing video called “Step Into Liquid.”  It did not take me long to put these two together.  “Step Onto Liquid” was born.

Step onto liquid basically means live by faith.  In the Gospel accounts, Jesus called Peter to walk on the water of a stormy sea.  Now I’m not saying that you should go out into the backyard and try and walk across the pool.  Plan on getting wet if you try.  I am saying that the Christian is called to live by faith in the midst of the stormy sea of life.  We must live by faith in the Lord and what he has revealed to us through his word–the Bible.  We must believe the gospel–Jesus Christ died and rose again to save sinners like you and me.  This is the idea behind “Step Onto Liquid.”

Here at my blog, you will find a rather random assortment of writings that I like to call “snapshots of my thoughts.”  I’ll write about spiritual life, sports, politics, music, travel, and pretty much anything.  Hopefully, many of these posts will also include actual snapshots.

 I am currently a junior at The Master’s College. I am absolutely loving my time there. I am studying Political Studies and thinking about attending law school after graduation. I serve as a Resident Assistant in the dorm of Hotchkiss–the happiest place on earth! Last Spring, I had the privilege of spending a semester in Israel.
